What a great way to ride! Newport itself is a fabulous place but if you’re in a classic Jaguar with a guided private tour it is magnificent. Our tour guide was well versed and fun but, more important, on a private tour he took us to places that we could not access on a group tour, including places off the beaten path and known only by locals. Not to mention a couple of great locations with unbelievable views and fine food and cocktails. (And, let me mention, you are allowed to drink in style in the car.) Perhaps most important, our driver let us personalize our tour to highlight the points of interest and experiences that we liked the best. We did the Kennedys in Newport Tour and visited places that only the driver knew! What a blast … and just a little bit salacious. However, there are other customized tours that we plan to come back and take, everything from art galleries, to wine tastings, to sailing, yachting and naval history, and a gourmet champagne picnic. This is a five-star experience for sure and, given the extras, a really good value for a three hour or full day tour.
